OpenAI quietly released Shap-E! 🤫

Shap-E is the newest Text-To-3D model by OpenAI, that can generate 3D shapes in just a few seconds.

In December of last year, they launched Point-E, a model that created simple 3D point clouds in a couple of minutes.

Shap-E seems to create complex 3D shapes in a couple of seconds. Just see the comparisons 👇🏻

Limitations:

• low quality if there is more than 1 object

• struggles to reflect multiple attributes (e.g. yellow bear with pink nose and green ears)

Even with these limitations, I think we’re 1-2 months away from a really good Text-to-3D model. Follow this space closely.🕵🏻‍♀️

👀 Ashton Kutcher raised a $243M VC fund for AI. Their portfolio already includes investments in AI darlings OpenAI, Antrhopic, and Stability AI — and he said that it only took 5 weeks to raise the fund. Piece of cake 🍰

🏋🏻‍♀️  The Code interpreter by OpenAI is eating data science. Folks have been doing data visualizations, regression diagnostics, visualizing trends, video editing, extracting colors from images.. and more. This thing is crazy - I will write more about it in the next newsletter!
