ChatGPT's behavior is going to change.

Mainly because the process is still imperfect.

How it works currently: Neural networks learn from a broad range of data, which is then fine-tuned (from human reviews) to narrow down system behavior. There are lots of mistakes, bias, executing requests that are marked as illegal, etc.

So, naturally, they want to improve it.

The biggest change?

📣 They're gonna let you customize your own ChatGPT 📣

You'll be able to customize ChatGPT to show outputs based on your preferences. But the outputs will still be bound, and I quote, "by limits defined by society". Someone needs to draw the line on what's ok and what's not - but who will?

The right balance is tough for this one.

Other things they're doing

They work on improving this default behavior by heavily investing in research & engineering. And they started to gather public input and feedback via red teaming (which are attacks and tests of the system) and by soliciting public input from different groups.
