Gorilla is a fine-tuned LLaMa model that can write API calls for you, using prompts.

It can generalize up to 1600+ APIs, is more reliable, and will hallucinate less than GPT-4, Chat-GPT, and Claude 👇🏻

How does it work?

Gorilla works well when paired with something called a 'document retriever.' Think of it like a detective (Gorilla) teaming up with a librarian (the document retriever).

This partnership is especially good at adapting to changes in the documents they are working on - imagine a book that gets new pages or chapters added over time.

This means if a user modifies the document or if there's a new version, Gorilla and the document retriever can handle it without issues.

Then, to test Gorilla's abilities, the developers built a huge directory of well-documented APIs. Think of these like recipe books for how to do different things with API programming.

Using this wide range of 'recipes,' they could see how well Gorilla could understand and work with them.

And the results are outperforming every other model out there.
