Investments in AI are starting to pile up💰
and this is just the start for AI-powered apps!
Hi everyone! This week was great for AI-powered tools. So great that three startups raised a combined total of $37.7 million! Kaching! 😳💸That's a lot of cash, and it shows how much potential there is for these kinds of apps.Let's take a look at what these startups are up to: 👇🏻
🧙🏼Buildspace raised $10M to build “Hogwarts” for builders and dreamers
Buildspace, a company that originally helped builders to learn and create apps in web3, has made a big announcement today. They raised $10 million to create a school for people who want to turn their passion into a sustainable career — and are expanding to other fields like ML/AI.
They call it the Hogwarts for builders and dreamers! 🧙🏻♀️
Today they launched their newest build: Build your own AI-writing assistant using GPT3. You can enroll today, and it will cost you $0.
Did we cast the Summoning Charm and asked for Buildspace?🪄 Because all of this sounds so magical and will enable many people, technical or not, to be able to build AI-powered tools on their own!
✍🏼Mem raised $23.5 M for their AI-powered note-taking app
Gartner says that professionals spend 50% of their working hours searching for information and on average take 18 minutes to locate a file.👀 If this is true, then we’re about to save a lot of time.
The OpenAI Startup Fund led the $23.5M round in Mem - an AI-powered note-taking app and search experience.
Mem can help you locate files and documents much faster than traditional search tools.
This seems as if Notion took the AI pill and it’s now easy to find those hidden documents that we desperately need.
++ For the Twitter fans, they recently launched Mem It for Twitter, which allows users to save threads, get AI-generated summaries of their content and see suggestions for similar tweets.
🐹 CircleLabs raised $4.2M to build AI- friends for kids
That’s right: Imaginary friends got an upgrade! Ever wonder what it would be like to talk to a cheese, Mickey Mouse, or your own imaginary bestie? Well, now you can.
All you need to do is describe their personality in plain English and they come to life.
Then, you’ll be able to chat with them on social media, Discord, and Messenger.
Their vision?
To unlock value → large language models need infinite time for prompt engineering.
Kinds have infinitive time for fun → can unlock value faster by playing with prompts.
As simple as that.
🛼 Fun stuff
Get your headshots done without paying for a photographer, and using your selfies
Adoption of Stable Diffusion compared to other tech ( 2010 to 2022 ). Insane!🚀
Build your pop-up book with this diffusion model
Predict the next *link* instead of a word → Not me searching this🙄:

A thought-provoking tweet by Emad from StabilityAI on how fast the AI space is moving & what’s to be expected
Now you can write in plain English and tell a robot what to do.
🧱 What are you building?
