StableAudio: Create music with AI
PLUS: AI can smell things now?
Hi folks!👋🏻 This is The Prompt! Consider us your AI Bat-Signal, shining light on the darkest corners of the AI world.
PS: As some of you noticed, I took a short break this week. I needed to recharge and get inspired for The Prompt 2.0. Big thanks to everyone for subscribing and reading this newsletter!
Now, let’s get it

Stable Audio: Create music with AI
The creators of the famous image model Stable Diffusion, launched StableAudio — a model that can create music.
You can use different prompts to set the mood, add instruments, and BPM — and you can actually set how long the output should be (which wasn’t the case with any other audio model before).
Currently, you can use their app (which is really powerful!), but they’ll also release open-source models based on Stable Audio soon! Yey!
NEW TECH
AI can smell things — like humans do
A new AI model by Google, can tell what things smell like by the molecular structure.
And predicting smells is really difficult.
While we know that many sulfur-containing molecules tend to fall in the ‘rotten egg’ category, predicting other aromas based on their chemical structure is hard.
So how is this AI that good?
They got 5,000 different smell molecules and asked people to describe them with words like "creamy" or "spicy." No one's made a list like this before.
Then, they used a special AI network called Graph Neural Network (GNN) to learn from this list. It looks at how the atoms are connected in each molecule and uses that to guess the smell.
When the computer program made guesses on new smells, it was pretty much as good as human experts!
With this, they created a map, called a "Principal Odor Map" that shows how similar or different smells are from each other, just like what experts think.
🚨 What else is going on
We’re probably hearing more AI voices on social media, than real people’s speaking. The Verge outlined the results using the top AI voice generator tools, and you can read all about it here.
AI robots infiltrated an NFL game with a secret mission — While initially there were doubts about whether the AI Robots were fake or real, soon it was revealed that they were indeed actual robots who were present at the game as part of a promotion for the upcoming sci-fi movie The Creator. Great stunt if you ask me!
Google is giving a small set of companies an early taste of Gemini — an AI model that is set to compete with GPT-4. They might release it for everyone soon!
