The GPT4 rumor mill debunked

Remember this image? 👆🏻

If you're an AI Twitter aficionado, you've probably come across every "viral" post featuring this image.

Everyone was raving about the big impact that GPT4 will have.

However, in a recent interview, Sam Altman poured cold water on some of these claims.

When asked about this graphic he said: "That's complete bullshit. People are begging to be disappointed, and they probably will be. We don’t have an actual AGI and that’s sort of what’s expected of us."

Now that's some honest, right-in-the-face truth-telling.

He also did not reveal a release date for GPT-4 and stated that future technology releases from OpenAI will be slower than anticipated. The company's primary focus is to ensure that any new technology is released safely and responsibly.

Perplexity.ai: First conversational answer engine

Perplexity.ai announced a major update yesterday: They are building the first conversational answer engine.

With their app, you can now search for things, get an instant answer and ask follow-up questions to dig deeper.

This is basically ChatGPT + the latest references pulled from a search engine.

No more searching through dozens of links to find the answer!
